CREATOR FAQ.

When does the creator marketplace open?

Q4 2026. Applications will open 60 days before launch. Waitlist members get a 24-hour head start and a dedicated onboarding call.

Do I have to open-source my pack?

Only the skills directory (MIT) and the tool implementations (Apache 2.0) must be open-source — that's how the community verifies security. Everything else (prompts, templates, Flutter widgets, wizards) is your IP and can ship as closed binaries.

What if Gumroad changes its fees?

Gumroad fees are passed through directly, so if they drop, you earn more; if they raise, you earn slightly less. Cognithor's 20% cut is contractually locked for three years from launch.

Can I price my pack above $500?

Yes. The marketplace supports one-time prices from $9 to $2,999. Subscriptions are not supported in Phase 2; if demand is strong we may add them in Phase 3.

Who owns the IP?

You do, 100%. There is no exclusivity clause. You can sell the same pack elsewhere, relicense it, or pull it from the marketplace at any time with 30 days' notice.

What happens to users if I delete my pack?

They keep the version they paid for forever. Uninstalling a pack from the marketplace stops new purchases but never removes it from customers who already installed it.

Do you take a cut on refunds?

No. If a customer refunds within the 14-day window, Cognithor and the creator both return their cut. You're only paid on sales that stuck.

Do I need to handle customer support?

48-hour first-response SLA for the first month after a customer buys. After that, community support in the project Discord is sufficient. Most creators never hear from a customer after install.
